Case Study: Remote Battery Monitoring System
A security company operating hundreds of mobile security towers was transitioning from AGM to lithium batteries. They needed the ability to monitor these batteries remotely across their entire fleet.
The Solution
I designed and built a complete monitoring system with the following capabilities:
- Smart Node — A custom device installed in each tower that automatically recognises and connects to the lithium batteries
- Central Control Panel — A monitoring dashboard tracking multiple parameters of each battery across the entire fleet
- Alert System — Automated alerts for battery issues, low charge, temperature anomalies, and maintenance requirements
- Inventory Management — Tracks battery location and status — whether with a service engineer, in stores, or deployed in a tower
- GPS Tracking — Location tracking for all assets across the fleet
